First, the ladies of the household bring four vessels, and then pour holy Ganges water in them. After that, they place mango leaves upon it, and right on the top they place the green coconut. Then the women place at the four corners of the room.

Ai Buro Bhat
It is a ritual that is for both Bengali brahmin grooms and brides who are going to get married the day after it. It is basically a feeding ceremony where the bride/groom is fed by their mother. The term ‘Ai Buro’ means bachelor and ‘Bhat’ is rice, on this day for the last time as a bachelor the brides/grooms have the meal at home. It is a lavish meal that contains five types of vegetarian dishes, fish, meat, rice, and rice pudding.
Gaye Holud
On the daybreak of the wedding day, this ritual takes place. This ritual is for both bride and the groom. In this ritual relatives and friends smear turmeric paste on the bride/groom. Usually, the women of the family take part in this ritual. However, first, the ritual takes place at the groom’s place then the groom’s family sends that turmeric to the bride. The bride’s family applies that turmeric paste sent by the groom’s family.
The groom’s family also sends gifts for the bride with the turmeric paste. The main attraction of the gift is the fish. Bengali wedding including Brahmin Matrimonial is incomplete without fish. So, the bride’s family receive a giant size Rohu fish on that very day.
Applying Aalta
It is a ritual that is only for the bride and the women of the family. In that ritual, the bride apply aalta or a red coloured liquid on her feet and on her palms. Along with the bride the other women in the family also wear it. Red colour brings fortune to the ceremony so the colour remains dominant throughout the wedding function.
Bor Boron
In the evening the groom sets out for the wedding. When he reaches to bride’s house, the bride’s mother welcomes him. This welcoming ceremony contains a ritual called Bor Boron. The bride’s mother takes a thali on that there will be a lamp, rice grain, grass, and sandal paste. Like every other community even in Bengali Brahmin Matrimony, this ritual is very common. After the Boron, the bride’s mother offers sweet and a glass of water to the groom.
