During the wedding, special rituals take place. Some of them are Kanyadan and Hatha Ghanti. After the groom's arrival at Mandapa, the Oriya Brahmin bride is welcomed to the wedding Mandapa. Then the ritual called Kanyadan is performed. - In this ritual, the father gives the bride the right hand in the right hand of the groom. After which the Haatha Ghanti ritual begins. Here the bride and groom take Saat Phere, the seven rounds of the holy fire. As a final ritual, the groom puts sindoor on the forehead of the bride and ties Mangalsutra in her neck and becomes her life partner forever.
• Post Wedding Rituals in matrimony Oriya –
After the Bidaai of the bride, the Grihapravesh and Astha Mangala ritual take place. In Grihapravesh, the bride is welcomed to her marital home. Later on, after the 8th day of marriage, the wedded couple visits the paternal house of the bride called Astha Mangala. Promising and traditional food items serve a warm and hearty welcome.
